Watt per m² calculation on a virtual surface
Solar & Outdoor

Solar irradiation on any surface

The Watt module computes incident solar irradiation (W/m²) on any surface, using EPW climate data, geometry, and material reflectance. Virtual sensors can be placed anywhere in or around the model to measure irradiation at any height.

Results feed energy calculations, inform solar panel placement, support thermal load studies, and help optimise shading devices. The module is validated against ASHRAE 140-2011.

  • Irradiation on real or virtual surfaces, any orientation
  • Period-based or annual calculations
  • Virtual sensor placement at custom heights
  • Feeds energy simulation and solar panel sizing
